The international architecture exhibition "Building Blocks" displays children's ideas realised by architects. The aim was to create a house with all its functions as children would envision it.

The exhibition upsets the usual understanding of architecture and encourages new ideas. Architects from various countries have created constructions based on ideas of 5-16 year-olds.

"Building Blocks" is a project initiated by Färgfabriken and executed in collaboration with Medium Studio. The project stemmed from the prevailing situation of architecture in the present age, led by fixed norms and expectations. The project should bring forth the differences between how children view their living environment and the norms imposed by adults.

Estonia is represented by the architectural bureau Zizi & Yoyo.

The exhibition will be accompanied by a catalogue, providing further information about the project. In addition to the exhibition, several seminars, workshops and discussion rounds will be held.

The exhibit open hours Wed - Sun, 11 AM - 4 PM.
