19th Hiiumaa Chamber Music Days

The chamber music event that was launched in 1999 enriches the summer music life of the second largest island of Western Estonia.

Musicians from Estonia and abroad take to the stage on the second weekend of July in historical places like Reigi, Emmaste and Pühalepa churches and Suuremõisa castle as well as other exotic concert venues.

The festival consists of four concerts this time. You can hear diverse and high-level compositions both from Estonia and abroad: Pärnu City Orchestra, Liisa Randalu (viola), Kalle Randalu (piano), Children's Choir of Children's Singing Studio of Estonian Radio, String Quartet Seele (Estonian-Finnish-Netherlands). The festival will open in Kärdla Villaladu with Tõnu Kõrvits's music for Carl Theodor Dreyer's "La passion de Jeanne d'Arc", Pärnu City Orchestra will be conducted by Jüri Alperten. The festival is organized by NGO Hiiumaa Kammermuusika headed by pianist Mart Ernesaks and violinist Aet Ratassepp.
