Christmas Village at the Estonian Open-Air Museum

For a couple of days, old barns and dwellings awaken from the winter sleep and become full of life and stories about our ancestors.

It is the custom in Estonia for families to gather together around the table during Christmas and sing songs.

At times of anxiety, the quiet and sacred holiday of Christmas still manages to get members of the family together. The Christmas Village sheds light on the different periods in Estonian history and their influence on everyday life.
