Exhibition "Metsmildeberg" by Piret Mildeberg and Jüri Mildeberg

Starting on May 30, 2017, the exhibition "Metsmildeberg" by artist couple Piret Mildeberg and Jüri Mildeberg is open in the basement hall of Kuressaare Castle.

Jüri Mildeberg: "It is a simple story, mostly made of ash tree, but also maple, birch, and horse-chestnut. The story also includes a little bronze and iron and beautiful glass eyes. The characters are our dear colleagues and friends. Well, some may not be so dear or a friend, but a colleague nevertheless."

Piret Mildeberg (born 1957) is a freelance artist, whose works can be found in the art collection of the Estonian National Library, illustration collection of the Estonian Children's Literature Centre, many private collections in Estonia, Finland, Swede, Denmark, Greece, Mauritius and elsewhere. She has illustrated over 40 books, designed posters, postcards, packages, and logos.

Jüri Mildebrg (born 1965) is a freelance illustrator, painter, and printmaker. He has illustrated children's book, collaborated with many magazines, created intermission clips for Estonian National Broadcasting (2005), painted the windowpanes of the Estonian Children's Literature Centre's hall (2008), created bookplates, etc. His works can be found in the art collection of the Estonian National Library, illustration collection of the Estonian Children's Literature Centre. and private collections in Estonia and all over the world.
