NU Performance Festival 3: Recycle POP

The international NU Performance Festival will feature Baktruppen (NOR), Catti Brandelius (SWE), Carole Drouillard (FRA), ExTRAfINE, KIWAnoid, Erkki Luuk & Co, Andres Lõo, maria UND maria, Sequoia and queeNNaive (EST).

This year, the festival has adopted the format of a small rock festival, held in the course of four days. This time it will focus on the affective lustful world of pop and its re-interpretations, hommages, identifications and critique in the interdisciplinary culture of performance art; copulations with band structures and the star scene, idiosyncratic experiences of identification, and the "Club Adorator": the crazy world of lust, depression, sexuality, achieving, despair, euphoria, naivety, narcissism, corporeality, fantasy, cool, perversion, power, freedom and money.

This year's festival strives to delve deep into the experience of pop and rock'n'roll and transcend to new heights. The audience will meet bands who do it like art, and art which is done like a band. The event will be attended by fans, groupies, anti and pseudo stars, "professors" and others. Several local collectives will take the stage for the first time. All of the Estonian performances, concerts, shows have been specially created for NU Performance Festival. There are also a few surprises and side projects.

The method of the festival is "letting go". The party will go on, only despair will tilt from the right to the left. Fantasies require a large screen - people wish to see themselves reflected on them.
